This masterclass introduces Performing Architectures, the interdisciplinary practice of
Andreas Skourtis, operating across performance design, scenography, architecture,
installation, and practice research. The session explores space as a performing
entity—activated through bodies, materials, sound, light, narrative, and site—rather than
as a neutral container or backdrop.
Drawing on international freelance work and long-term research projects, the
masterclass focuses on methodologies for designing performatively: working with
fragments, spatial dramaturgy, and context-specific strategies across theatre, live
performance, exhibitions, and site-based work.
The session is aimed at scenographers, performance designers, architects, and artists
interested in expanded, cross-disciplinary approaches to spatial practice.
